Wacky Wednesdays

As part of my building life skills homeschool curriculum, I represent Read and Grow Rich S.T.E.a.M. Faire by leading a Wacky Wednesday STEAM lesson at Reach Leadership Academy. I serve dual roles – instructor and photographer. In April 2015, the lesson was a paper tower competition. Students

Mini Mogul Club

Guess What? There is NO minimum age to start a business or to become a millionaire. All you need is a great idea, a little knowledge, and a lot of hard work. I started my business when I was only 5 years old. Read my story

Participating In Local History

In October 2014, Vice President Joe Biden came to Colton (California) High School.  In spite of all of the blockades and street closures, I managed to get a photo of the motorcade. I had to anticipate where would be a good spot to stand to

2013 San Bernardino Mayor’s Forum

When I attended the Mayor’s Forum, I met Daniel. He was there to write a report for his school Maple Elementary. Since I took pictures (and he forgot his camera), I shared my photos with him for his report. We plan to stay in touch.

DANIEL’S REPORT

On January 10, 2014) there was a Forum for the two candidates for mayor of San Bernadino, Wendy McCammack and Carey Davis. It was at Ecclesia Christian Fellowship church at 6:30 p.m. In this Forum, these two candidates were asked questions and had about 5-10 minutes to tell their answer/speech. The director of the Forum was a gentleman named Walter Hawkins, VP of West Side Action Group. In the middle of the Forum, there was a half break point when the candidates and crowds took a break for a minute. In these pictures Carey Davis, Walter Hawkins, Wendy McCammack, the large crowd who attended the Forum, the photographer, a newly acquired friend of mine, Izaiah Frazier, a child who wants to be a millionaire . (For more info http://DollarChoresForSale.com/) and me, Daniel Patterson . Amazingly, there were over 200 people  that attended the Forum. This shows how much the people of San Bernadino care to gather information of who is the best suited individual to lead our city, San Bernadino. One thing, both candidates love and care for San Bernadino. The phrase I loved most of Mrs. McCammack was that with the change in leadership, no  San Bernadinian “would ever claim to live in Loma Linda (a lot of people laughed, I guess many people say that!).”The phrase I loved the most from Mr. Davis was  “Every city or house divided against itself will not stand,” (Matthew 12:25) I love man who is not afraid to use the scripture even when everyone thinks that it is not “politically correct. “There will be two more Forums we all should attend. One on January 15th at the City Hall Chambers at 7 pm and the last one on January 22nd at Cal State San Bernardino. If you attend these forums you will learn great new words as I did like low income housing, ordinances, bankruptcy and recall among others.
